One is the highway.

The other is a main street that eventually winds through a golf course and ends up at my house. The "other" route is also a good route to take once traffic hits and also it allows me to hunt for coupons and stop at like 8 stores all on the way home so there is no doubling back. I love the "other" route when the sales are hot...

The "other" route also passes this church that has the best quotes on their sign:

"healthy boundaries in friendship"

"praying for your boss"

"keys to self sustaining relationships"

"when God says NO to your prayers"

"what to do if children hurt you"

"marriage"

"marriage part 2"

"preparing for it all"

and my FAVORITE

"what will it cost if you are wrong"

I reallly thought about that - especially since we like to keep ourselves prepared for a lot of situations. What would it cost us if we are wrong and nothing happens? Well, let's see what does it cost us now? Monetarily? We are not spending more than we did before actually we are spending less. Convenience? Well, I probably had a few more hours of free time before per day - which were often spent at the book store or cafe writing or drawing --- I can always resume that if nothing happens - actually I can resume it now - we have a spare room i can oil paint in right now. Space? We are sacrificing a bit of space but our guest room is still a room with a bed, the office resembles an office plus a dog bed and the master bedroom is just a parking spot for a king size bed. Reward? Peace of mind and listening to that Spirit that urges you to be prepared and do all you can do for yourselves and your family. Downside? Some months there is no downtime...but so what. Even if there is no downtime the satisfaction and savings far outweighs the loss of "downtime" downtime is a western concept - an AMERICAN concept.

In the 2 years we've done this - we've only had to make 2 major donations of stuff that was about to expire and we had about 20 lbs of cornmeal that was past it's prime which we mixed into the compost (great compost this year). Other than that we've had few things expire because I'm good at keeping tabs on it. And I donate it about 2 months pre-expiration to food banks where I know it will be eaten quickly.

2 years ago our extended family gave us a hard time about putting up stuff. Now they all save because of what we are doing and all our houses are fluid. I am happy to keep all of us saving. I am happy to have items for trade. If you see items that aren't the healthiest of products I buy them because of requests - because my friends/family would buy it anyway I might as well get it free if I can't convince them to not eat it at all.

so What will it cost you if YOU are wrong?

I had my one year exam a few months ago and I told the doctor that my vision seemed a bit off and maybe it should be better. I was quick to say this because I have a warranty on my eyes. The warranty means that as long as I go to them for my annual exams (about $100) they will cover any adjustments needed to my vision.

I will say this - for some reason my night vision sharpened a lot more quickly than my day vision. The doctor also said my eyes healed really well, very clear and you could barely tell any surgery had been done. THEN..he laughed. He told me my eyes were actually 20/20 when using one eye at a time but when viewing with both eyes I see 20/15- he told me they would probably be better than that if I stopped taking my OTC allergy meds that dry my eyes out. hahaha.

Lasik is my BEST PREP EVER.

That was always one of my concerns not being able to see in an emergency. My contact kit, extra solution, extra boxes of contacts, 2 pairs of glasses - one of them light sensitive because it's very sunny here - all these things were always ready to go. Some years my eyes were better and some years they were worse. Weapon accuracy changes for me when I use glasses versus contacts. I also didn't like it if I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't see. Lasik reduced the potential for disaster.

I paid 2600 vs the original quote of 4800. I paid it off in 11 months even though there was no need to hurry and pay it because I had 2 years 0% interest and I only put 1K down. Versus the price of what I would pay for 8 boxes of contacts, 2 pairs of glasses plus the high cost of contact solution - I would say I'm ahead.

Plus it really puts my mind at ease that even if I didn't have my glasses or anything no one would have to drag me around in the dark like Stevie Wonder. My eyes were -3.25/-3.5 definitely no driving or walking around or hiking in dark situations. Way safer to crouch quietly in the dark than feel around for glasses and knock them over. I have not one regret at all in getting this surgery plus the staff is fantastic and cheerful.

Just sayin. She Chefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402907306215787064noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008061316496547891.post-2588144112474993062013-08-07T23:48:00.000-07:002013-08-07T23:48:02.033-07:00My Biggest Dollar Savings Yet!

Thanks to an increase in couponers...i have been able to get rainchecks. Due to the rainchecks I am able to do huge preorders of expensive items.

I honestly don't know what i'm going to do with all these razors...we will see.

I do not want to donate them because they are so high value - I may just keep them and distribute to family since they do not "expire.
I saved over one thousand dollars.

I have to admit this was one of my biggest purchases. I normally don't make purchases this big because it requires manager approval and sometimes managers have a change of heart when the savings is too high.

Fortunately I did not have that problem.

The next day I went back for a second haul - because i figured out that you could use a mens gillette coupon on a female gillette razor.

The stock manager is so awesome - we are on a first name basis and have each others numbers - haha. She told me that the distribution center sent her too many razors and I could get more if I wanted.

Bet your keisters I went back for more.

If I hadn't of gotten the toothbrushes at 50 cents each I would have paid about $1.50. But I always buy stuff on top of my savings because - the store should always make money.

Even when there's a lot of overages - I just grab candybars near the register and give them to the cashiers and baggers. Also when it's "freebie" day I tell my cashiers and baggers to pick what they want and take them as a tip.

That's why when I get home my bags are lighter by a few items because I make sure to share. She Chefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402907306215787064noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008061316496547891.post-56083581629689181582013-07-24T22:33:00.000-07:002013-07-24T22:33:36.244-07:00wow Have I really been behind 2 months!Dang time flies!

I have been making cakes like crazy and I survived Mothers Day and now I'm in the middle of grad cakes. It will be grad cakes for the rest of the month around here. It's also been a crazy month of deals:

For this deal I had just run to the store for kitchen...then I realized that there was a basket of clearance icing (clearly for donation)...and a ton of the granola bars on clearance. The icing actually made money - and paid for the parmesan cheese, chicken and poker chips - and still put $2.60 in my pocket.

Here's the receipt for those naysayers.

LOL I love naysayers. Naysayers are the reason I got so dang good at this...

this was a freak deal. The phone app AD had the barilla sauce listed at $10/10. But when I got to the store it said $2.79 ea. So the store manager gave me a rain check for the $1ea. The store only had 30 - so I asked for another raincheck coz I had to pick up more at another store.

Well at checkout - even though it was already 100% free - another catalina (register generated coupon) came out after I paid the total bill of UM... 60 CENTS! hhaha. so in fact this purchase made me $1.40

But when you notice something like this you should always change your game up...

So at the next store I had them ring up my barilla pasta in 3 transactions...

Which gave me another $6 bucks even though I only paid 54 cents total. haha.

I used those 4 coupons + another 1.50 off your next meat purchase coupon - and picked up a spiral ham (99cents/lb sale) for a whoppin total of $1.38. HA!

These are the little things that really test your skills - to see if you know how to milk money out of that register in the most legal way possible.

These eyeshadow were 1.55 if you bought 4 - I had a coupon for $2 off any eyeshadow - in turn this made me .45 cents per piece...

which i used to get these...

the shampoo/conditioner was on sale for 2.18 each and i had a coupon for 1.50 off each AND the overage from the above eyeshadow - so they ended up being about 17 cents.

---
so the next day on my lunch break i'm picking up some chicken strips and an iced tea at the grocery store and I figure well why not - I might as well pick up a few things...
There were a few nice colors of eyeshadow so I grabbed those and used money maker coupons - and it's funny I actually ended up giving some to one of the employees...

I knew I had an overage of 3.60 so I picked up some lightbulbs...

Ironically - another catalina popped out because I bought the lightbulbs. haha.

so on this transaction I made 1.59 - it at least covered my lunch. Cool right.
I was on a mission to use up these eyeshadow coupons they were quickly becoming a pain in my ass - but everyone around here loves it - at least both my sister in laws do as well as the teenage girls who work at the shop...
I really have a feel for which store treats stuff as unlimited and which stores really obey the limits.
I used the overage from the eyeshadow and coupons on everything else to pay the surplus.
We ordered 12 cases of wide mouth pints because we can find them nowhere in the valley. Craigslist is cleaned out and mostly on there is a bunch of moochers asking for free jars - yeah right that hasn't worked since 2011 - okay - buy your jars here in the desert like everyone else.

they were marked 12.99 but the manager gave us the old price of 9.99 a case. Still hefty - but I figure since the cost doesn't seem to be going down - we might as well get 12 cases and that will hold us.
Last Sunday we beat our old record.

together we found 412 inserts.

412 smart source
PLUS
412 red plum

I've given away all of them but 250 a piece.

Exhausting work this is.

We are running into a problem where some of our friends seem to think that just because we are able to get stuff for free we should be giving it to them for free. UM NO. The people who seem to feel entitled to it for free are the same people whom I used to give coupons to and they were too lazy or too stupid to figure out how coupons work. Now I say they are stupid because here there are TWO different stores (with a jillion locations) that double all manufacturer coupons up to $1. So all you have to do is subtract $1 from the sale price.

I find it really insulting that people seem to think that they are entitled to what we work for - do they get up at 6am on Sundays? do they separate the papers? do they sort them into neat piles - then staple and cut them? do they work out the deals by comparing a database to the weekly ad? do they work on speaking relationships with cashiers and store managers so that the transactions go through without a snag? NO NO and NO to all of the above questions. So why in the f&&#*** do they think they should be entitled and suggest that we give them what we've worked for. Annoying and Disgusting. She Chefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402907306215787064noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008061316496547891.post-23451711950530707762013-05-21T22:41:00.001-07:002013-05-21T22:41:17.597-07:00You know what's cool? When you save enough money trimming the budget and couponing...that you can buy your husband a treat that he has been wanting but didn't want to crack into the budget for...
I think that if you work hard and put a good amount of concentration into your homes well being and safety - then once in awhile you deserve a reward - a treat so to speak. It's funny ever since we were given the new LG 55 inch 3D (blah blah blah) tv as a gift i knew he wanted this sound bar with blue tooth sub woofer.

Mr. Man is at it very early every day then after he gets home from work he's always in the garden or outside or unloading Lord knows what I bring home. He may not look thrilled but believe me when I tell you that he enjoys this sound bar. Shhhh So do I.
We ended up scoring 45 total of the weber bbq sauce. With the moneymaking Advil coupons - the average pay for the bbq sauce was 19 cents (because I had $1 off coupons)...

Sale price for weber bbq sauce is $2 = regular price is $3.49 - even at $1 a piece I would have been happy but what we got was great!
We even found a spot for it in the garage - we just had to reconfigure the juicy juice and the molasses somewhere else.... The new juicer works great it goes clockwise then counter clockwise based on if you push the center or pull it towards you...

Then I broke down the turkey breasts that we cooked and dropped them in the freezer.

After all that was done Mr. Man woke up and weeded the garden and vacuumed and used the leaf blower on the back patio...I swept and mopped. Then he came in and vacuumed the area rugs while I did the windows on the back of the house. He just ran off to refill our 35 gallons of water (7 5-gallon jugs) and I started the laundry.

That's it - just another day in the life.

It's crazy. But I'm glad we have the energy to do it...

We had some people over here this weekend and I feel like I had to really clean up after she was around...I just didn't like her presence in my house. Mr. Man is SOOOOOO lucky I am respectful of him and I didn't thump that hoe on the back of her skull.
All in all this was about a $52 trip.
I didn't even use a lot of coupons.

i tell you what...it was super shocking to see almost all the prep items on clearance. I was most happy with the jars. I really wanted more of these pretty pint jars and now I have 16 of them...I can salsa and jelly for at least a batch and a half --- and I paid half price! She Chefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402907306215787064noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008061316496547891.post-75209183462761127112013-04-14T20:11:00.000-07:002013-04-15T09:00:31.156-07:00Sundays are Cool!I had an easy morning - collecting coupons, doing some inventory at work, hanging out with the other manager and then doing a little shopping...

I talked to the "paper boy" and he told me that he has 50 extra inserts that he will gladly give me weekly coz I'm so "nice" Nice kid with 2 jobs and he's hookin up those inserts and hiding them in a spot I can hide behind the shop! Awesome! That makes my life so much easier now! But today I found 160 red plum inserts and 100 smart source inserts and Mr. Man found 50 of the 2nd edition smart source inserts (yay Barilla pasta sauce coupons).

Today I went to get a few things for the shop (chocolate and scrubbin bubbles). It turns out that our local Fry's (aka Kroger's aka Publix) is having a $5 off of 5 on certain items. The coolest thing is - the manager priced items are far better than the advertised prices.

I was finally able to use some of the Rice coupons I've been hanging onto forever. I thought they were going to fade into expiration but fortune was on my side.
Here's a different angle of the haul.

I even tipped the cashier 10 packages of rice because she expressed interest! I like tipping my cashiers when they are awesome. If they don't express interest in my haul then I give them a gift card for coffee or ice cream!
I found these for Mr. Man everything was about $1 except the mini hack saw - that was 1.99. I figure since he's doing carpentry stuff all these tools will come in handy!
I looked outside the kitchen window and saw walls of smoke in the backyard...then I saw black shreds of paper looking things being carried by the wind...

I called Mr. Man and said,"you better check this out..."

He came back and said,"that ain't no barbecue, it's a FIRE...get out here"
He kept our side of the house wet until the fire department came. I could already hear the sirens while I called 911 and they told me that other neighbors had already called.

Super Crazy.

The neighbors were not home - but their dog was locked in the house.
To be honest I never did like these neighbors. If I felt sorry for anyone I felt sorry for the dog that was locked in the house. THEN...the fireman told us something,"Apparently this is the 2nd fire related to the tenant - but that is 'to be determined' "

That's sickening...

I told Mr. Man he sprung into action without pause...he told me all he could think of was that this fire would not "get us" A neighbor on the back side was telling him where to spray that he was missing so it wouldn't jump to our yard. I'm so proud of him to just jump to action to protect what is ours. I also told him I was so happy he was always blowing the pine needles off the roof and maintaining the gutters so there was no excess debris in there that would catch fire. We checked the attic and the walls and everything was fine - and the fireman told him that "you saved your house!"

I thank God for watching over us and giving him the sense to spring to action!

This was the end result of that fire:
Last weekend everyone came over to celebrate our friend Jereme's birthday - I made some simple food and Mr. Man barbecued 2 types of ribs.

here's my niece hamming it up and so excited to get to the mashed potatoes.

It was my first time frying outside on the propane and I singed that dang chicken in the first batch but the 2nd batch came out just fine.

Funny everyone loves to come here and we have the smallest home of all the siblings.
I complained about a certain cashier at a certain store. This location is NOT a reflection of my prior experiences with Fry's (some of you may call it Kroger)...but I was so IRRITATED to be treated that poorly...I actually wrote a comment on tellkroger.com.

Don't you know that manager called me and I said I couldn't come in and she said she would leave a gift card for me at the desk. Well I was surprised to receive $40 for my "inconvenience"
I'm so messed up but I just love her mad face! She Chefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402907306215787064noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4008061316496547891.post-86652409288394343212013-03-28T01:00:00.001-07:002013-03-28T01:00:27.986-07:00Last few deals before Easter 2013I'm so slammed at work. Yesterday our "boss" dropped in and surprised us. We didn't even know he was coming. I function as a cake decorator and a manager but I have a co-manager Adrian. I say that because neither of us wants to own the title of store manager - hahaha. Anyway - the shop owner moved out of state and left us in charge LITERALLY - he was very to see that the place looked really clean and the numbers are in order and we are really developing relationships with the customers.

He took us to Z Tejas tonight for dinner - we could have picked anywhere but since we all had such a long day and have a longer day tomorrow - I didn't see a point in going to a steak house where the guys would have to wear a collared shirt. It was nice to catch up and laugh and hear about his pilot adventures and everything else. It is nice to genuinely respect and want to hang out with the person who signs your checks.

Somewhere between all this madness I managed to get some deals:

Probably the last of my makeup coupons for the month - all of this was free - at dollar general.

I gave it all to my sister in law to mail off to Manila. She is so tickled by the concept of getting stuff free with coupons. I don't have a facebook but my family is always posting my hauls on facebook.

Funny right.

Mr. Mans friend has asked Mr. Man/Me to help him. I asked in what way. He said with purchasing. He wanted to know if we could just make the purchases and then charge him the money. I am really hesitant to do this. First of all I have given them stacks and stacks of coupons which their either don't use or LOSE. It still kind of chaps my (_(_) when I think about the 30 coupons I gave him for free Progresso soup and he didn't use it. I don't even want to know about the other coupons I've given him.

This is the thing. HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND. I mean sure they just had a baby. but bear in mind I've already raised infants even if they didn't come out of my body. Even little Brooky who is like 16 months now goes with me everywhere. I'm not one of those people who don't think you should take kids with you on your errands and shopping and every day things. I dunno - kids are always real calm around me. His girlfriend is basically in the same position as my sister in law - they have an 8 yr old and a newborn. My sister in law keeps that house in order, cooks the meals, deals with the homework and organizing plus the baby plus my nutty brother and does the shopping! I don't understand why this other girl who is now NOT working can't do her own shopping? He told Mr. Man that the other day they went to wally world and spent $160 and it wasn't even that much stuff and he really needed "help" and "well you know my girl isn't the smartest..." Really - did he actually say that? Well Yeah.

I told Mr. Man a few things:

#1) Our fridge space is limited and I will not keep a running tab, or forgive an amount owed coz he changes his mind.
#2) Is it fair to me to expect me to also track what your 'friend' wants as far as groceries when there are 3 adults in that house who can do the shopping?
#3) Is it really that hard for his girlfriend to pick up a weekly ad out of the MAILBOX?
#4) Seriously?
#5) Is it really helping your friend if I'm the one doing it?
#6) What entitles your friend to utilize my time to save HIS house money?
#7) I think his friend is flakey. He asked us to hold 3 boxes of gogurts for him (49cents per box) and that was over the weekend - today was Wednesday and they are still in our refrigerator - I could have already given those to my brother. This is NOT going to become a storehouse of some DEALS for his friend to pickup whenever he wants.
#8) I am not going to just be some food psychic - and GUESS what they like and don't like. Coz I tell you what for some people who don't really cook they sure act picky.
#9) His girlfriend is a waster. EVERY single time she's come to our barbecue she will fill her plate to the brim and THEN throw it in the garbage without even thinking twice.
#10) Did he just call his chick stupid?

So what do you guys think? I think it's an unreasonable request. Occasionally my shopping is for pleasure but this is our stockpile - this is not a service and I don't even like the connotation that he's putting on my shopping skills. Putting up things for a household is serious business.
Right before our barbecue today my I ran to get toilet paper before they stock ran down because the toilet paper coupon came out.

I'm a bit sad because We only found 170 coupon books. It should have been 250 but someone beat us to the first location and we lost 80 books...

My niece said she wanted to go and see me in action so did my cousin Aycee - too see how it's done! They were so excited - I never had to use 3 carts before!

Some people relax by having a treat.

I relax by getting a deal. But it's kind of a quagmire. Sometimes the deal is so good I get an adrenaline rush that I feel all kinds of alert! This was not one of those times. Hee hee

$1.89. That's what it costs for 31 kleenex and 4 mouthwash - if you flip the deal right.

I was sitting on a lot of kleenex coupons. I've been trying to use them here and there to get 4-6 freebies at a time. I noticed in the CVS ad they had a deal that if you bought $30 worth of paper products you received an instant $10. I am not really a CVS shopper. But I couldn't resist because they had a deal of 99cents per box of kleenex. and with my coupons I would get $18.50 off the remaining 20 bucks. I was also able to get my brother 8 packages of huggies newborn/size1/size/2. His 8 packages of diapers cost $42 including tax. I staggered the sizes and the purchases. I was very excited to save them 60% on diapers.

She's a very good natured baby and only cries when she wants something. My brother is always accusing my sister in law of spoiling her. Mom is also laughingly telling us to stop spoiling her. We went to Korean Dinner for my birthday and I had her in one arm and used my free arm to eat with my chopsticks.
My other niece is so happy being a big sister --- she keeps telling the little one to hurry up and grow up so they can share a room - haha. She might live to regret that. I don't even know why she has this idea that they have to share a room because there are 3 empty rooms in my brothers home. Really funny.

I tell you what that little one is looking pretty big for a 2 week old. But Mommas Milk gives you a supercharged baby.

Anyway...back to the deals:

I also picked up a meat deal:

so I was able to can some lean ground turkey, sweet italian sausage and then set aside some cube steak to make some salisbury steak dinners.

Mr. Man has started a work out regimen - and now eats extra protein - so in addition to the salisbury steak he also requests the chicken nuggets that I precook and freeze.

I have never met anyone who can eat as much as he can and not gain any weight at all. Even after a big meal his stomach sticks out a bit but by the morning it drops right down to normal.

Must be nice LOL.

Last Sunday i had to go into work because I was taking Monday off for my birthday and we have been having a LOT of orders. Today this lady bought 90 slices of cake for tomorrow and pre paid. Dang. Anyway the night before (saturday) our "friend" called to ask if we could keep the baby while she "went to church" - I said no problem bring her to the shop. I told this to Mr. Man and he said you will be too busy at work to watch that baby - leave her here with me - she can play outside while I'm working on the garden...

I worked about FOUR hours.

Mr. Man was sitting on the sofa and he looked exhausted. The baby was jumping up and down right next to him on the sofa patting his shoulder and humming to herself. She was minus shoes and a dress and was laughing in her diaper.

I laughed and said what the heck is goin on around here? He said she took an industrial size poop and he couldn't get her sundress back on her. LOL

Apparently she followed him everywhere and mushed her face into his beard or hugged him like a stalker - or she was turning over water buckets outside in the backyard. LOOOOOL...

So I asked,"so was she bad?" He laughed and said,"No she wasn't bad but she is certainly more busy and faster now." Bwaahahahhaa. I picked her up and made her a grilled cheese (she'd already eaten an omellette, toast and fruit with Mr. Man) and then told her to take a nap. She fought me about 4 minutes and went straight to bed.
I've been wanting one of these for awhile...and he was nice enough to score some tanks on craigslist for very cheap. We have an electric stove and canning really runs up the bill. Plus I like the control factor. He still has to put the wind guards on but it will be awesome to finally use the all american canner!
I would try to cook a 4 course meal with rice in less than 45 minutes. I still race myself. I still win. HAHA.

We still love a homemade burger. Very rarely do we eat out. The other night our friends Sean and Amy invited us over for dinner - and it was so tasty. Shrimp Fried Rice, Eggrolls, Stirfry Beef and a vat of Crawfish. They even sold me on doing some Sake Shots. It was so nice to not cook - and eat some delicious food.

Anyway --- back to beating my best! There is only one thing better than the bottom of a receipt saying: Savings 100% and that's:

107% SAVINGS!!!!!!

Isn't that something...I'm so excited I finally beat my record of 103% savings.

I guess I should show you what I can do with 69 cents. The only thing I can get at the store with 69 cents with no coupons is the new half packs of gum they are selling - what the heck is a "half pack" lol NOTHIN!

One case of nesquik and the 8 pantene were purchased separately but it was still 101% savings so it's factored in.

This is the most amazing haul I've ever had. I was really just on my way to the register when I walked by a mini gorilla shelf with baskets of make up...I picked one up and the price was astounding and I realized I had coupons. I was thinking I was going to pay between .49-.99 cents per item and I wasn't really intending to spend that much money. This cute blonde girl was hovering too and I told her dig in girl and she laughed. I noticed she had the "envelope" of coupons. I called Mr. Man and asked him to please bring me 20 coupon books from the back office. When he arrived I asked the blonde girl if she needed some coupons. She said really? I said sure - I'm not greedy. I said would you like 6 or 8? She laughed and said "4 is fine" I handed them to her. She said WAIT --- these mascara coupons in your book are worth $3!!! I said oh heckkkk no - MONEYMAKER! I laughed and told her pick what you want because I'm clearing these baskets. She picked her 4 items and I said are you sure that's all you want? She said yes thanks. She said My goodness you have so many coupons...I laughed and told her I'm a digger. I told her anytime she saw me around she could hit me up for coupons anytime coz I'm not greedy.

I noticed the store manager was doing a display reconfigure and I told her I'm clearing your shelves - she said please do. I said, One of your staff told me you are having a shoplifting problem so you will no longer carry cosmetics?" She said yes. I said don't worry I will ring these separately at self checkout coz of the proctor and gamble coupons...She said OH no you don't have to do that - just tell them I said so...I was like "thanks Christine." (She even saw me at checkout and said,"take care of her - give her what she wants..." )

I cleared the shelf - grabbed another handbasket - and wheeled over to the deli area where I could sit down and sort my coupons and do some clipping. While I was there I picked up a few chicken strips and a large pink lemonade. It probably took about 30 minutes to sort it out because I had to also calculate how much money they were making me and I already had in mind that I wanted the dehydrated dates to make date sugar. I had coupons for everything except the dates, the romano cheese and the nail polish (79cents ea). Bottom Line was 69 cents. The funny thing is on my hand written calculations my number was 75 cents - HAHAHAHA. I even gave the cashiers nesquik and lipstick. I always let the cashiers pick something out of my freebies if they like it.

I'm also a coupon fairy - if I see people buying stuff and I have coupons I don't use - I give them the coupons. Last weekend I gave 2 college kids a stack of food coupons. Yesterday I gave a Canadian couple 24 coupons for bogo on cesar dog food. Today I gave a lady some atkins coupons, a young mother a stack of food and snack coupons and another man coupons for his dry dog food. Any opportunity I get I give people coupons - especially if I happen to be at walmart. HAHA!

My friend Grayv told Mr. Man today,"Soon they will be paying your wife to take things out of the store..." And don't you know it happened today!

Oh yeah I managed to get these at WallyWorld for 26 cents ea...I don't normally go to WallyWorld but they had the cheapest price on these...
I also managed to make a full tray of chicken strips out of 4 chicken breasts - this should last us until Sunday depending on how many people come to visit. It's really hard to find good food - it's to the point where I can only buy bread from 2 places (I'm too impatient to bake in the winter) and I've started making all of our tortilla and potato chips. It's just nuts - but it's all about making big batches of stuff and then reheating them later.
