29 Sept 2007: Let's Define a Few Things...

...So lately I leave the tv on when I'm cooking or writing or doing whatever. Whatever channel it was on before it got turned off is what I leave on while I'm doing my whatever thing...

A few mornings ago it was on the news. The channel I had it on had something called a "hero break." So it caught my attention coz I was expecting something stellar. It showed a whole video clip of this woman PACKING HER DAUGHTERS LUNCH. Big Effin Deal. Then it went on blathering about how the woman was a hero because she made sure that her daughter had some fruit in there in case her diabetic daughter's blood sugar fell too low.

uh OK.

That's called DOIN YOUR JOB BEEYOTCH. Now if she would have been packin lunches for 30-50 kids a couple times a week with diet specific items for kids with type 2 diabetes we can talk about heroics. It's one lunch, it's YOUR kid and it's in a paper bag in the desert. I could say she "ain't shit" but the truth is she's just NOT a big deal.

Dictionary definition of hero is: a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideala person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal.

Since when does doing what you are supposed to do make you a hero? Since when does being MEDIOCRE merit some praise. Since when does below average get an accolade? Not in my world. All the women in my family went way beyond that everyday and even raised some of the neighborhood kids coz their moms' would rather party than parent. My mom owned a business, managed our educations and spiritual upbringing and then funded all kinds of extracurricular lessons, and she cooked all our meals. Take your below average woo woo and get out of here with that.

Julian is acquainted with someone that he would never call a friend. However, this person apparently seethes with jealousy. I dont' really care as long as he doesn't come near me with his stank ass breath. However, I like how he has this high and mighty way of expressing his opinion that is really just like panty hose on top of his lack of confidence.

dumb-ass [duhm-as] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun Slang: Vulgar. ..>..> ..> ..>..>..>
a thoroughly stupid person; blockhead.

You Dumbass. It's no wonder that you don't have any friends; casual, professional or personal. It's no wonder that your family shuns you like someone who has the chronic farts. Still he insists on being near Mr. Man (my boyfriend) as if he could get charming by osmosis. One time he actually told Julian in front of me..."You pretty motherfuckers have all the luck..." I said,"His looks have nothing to do with him being a winner - his charm is what carries him"

Dumbass dumbass dumbass dumbass dumbass.

It's exhausting to hear the hilarious but sorry ass tales of people moaning and bitching about what they can't have. It always seems like these people are not so blessed facially (aka fugly). Hey jackass...just because your parents made you ugly doesn't mean the world owes you SHIT. Just because your face is afflicted doesn't mean you don't have to work as hard as the rest of us. Just because you don't feel like you get what you want doesn't mean you deserve that shit. Check that Hunny...

27 Sept 2007: Cool Stuff Lately...

It's seriously grind time from now until May.

So I'll be lucky if I find any blog time...

Here's some of my favourite Bests of Late...

---

Best Boyfriend Ever.

Recently I was asked to cater a brunch. This time last year I turned down all catering. However, this was only bomblettes for 10. Piece of cake. I didn't adjust my regular pastry chef gig and squeezed it into a morning before work. I was prepping everything the night before and Julian called and said can I help you with anything for the catering? I said no --- it's okay. He asked are you sure - I can chop stuff up or carry things. I laughed and said I gottit.

Mind you, he offered to help after a 10 hour workday of his own. Simply amazing. I just laughed and said I've gottit and he should go relax and play poker with the men people. Hahhahhaa.

The next morning I cooked everything and got it ready for the chafing dishes (aka foodwarmers) and he loaded up my ride and then helped set up. You know he didn't have to...he could have gone to his desk since he has work of his own. But he's cool like that...

"I like your pouty face...it's so cute Bebe, I see you curled up asleep and so happy I can't stand to wake you up...and then you make that pouty face and then I just have to smile..." Him to Me...

...

Me: I feel bad...I got a little overextended...

Him: I like doing things for you, you know that right?

Me: Why...

Him: Because it means I'm able to....

...

I've never met anyone like Julian. He takes nothing we have for granted --- not what we have together or what we have as individuals. He voices and prays his thanks and gratitude. He is constantly laughing even when we are tired and says TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED BEBE! Bwaa hahahaha. It makes me laugh but I tell him that being this blessed is a little stressful because it comes with specific responsibility. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed after coming back from vacation but I'm in the swing of it now.

I love to listen to him speaking quickly and excitedly. I like talking over all of our home made dinners - we talk about what we've done, what we have to do and what we are going to do. Afterwards, he always helps with the dishes and continues laughing and pouring the drinks. Honestly, he makes what we have seem so effortless.

We have a LOT to do and hella lucrative investments to make and so far we have crushed all of our goals. It's nice to be with someone who sees life as a challenge and an adventure instead of a curse.

Best girls Ever...

Holla at my girls for always always being there to make me laugh or listen to my angry rants or just to laugh.

---

Best Cold Dessert

Recently we made a frozen yogurt gelato style with a raspberry forest fruit topping that is off the hook. It makes other frozen yogurts taste like paper. I'm not really a dessert eater (I like makin' them)...but I would eat myself sick if this was available all the time

---

Best Shoes

My "flesh" coloured Report Brand ballerina flats with an ankle strap and pleated toe. I've rocked these everywhere from Chicago to the Philippines. You can walk in them for even 10 city blocks and it feels comfortable. I will be getting them in 5 colours.

---

Best Rice

The Spanish rice I make for dinner - I roast the rice with fresh garlic before I boil and steam it. If you don't know - you'd be wise to invite yourself over.

---

Best Cake Lately...

I make so many of the damn things...but this is one of the latest that I like that is kinna okay to me. There are others but I like this flat look lately.

---

Best Break Up..

Cbug, my little sister in law, called me one night to tell me that she had broken up with her long time boyfriend since high school. Too bad for him. I don't really want to put her B.I. on deck here but I will say this - I am very proud of her for the ability to make a decision that benefits her as a woman. I am very proud of her for ENFORCING a decision that was difficult to do. She has learned early in the game what most women will never have the strength to acknowledge or change EVER. She is doing what's best for her which makes her the best.

Best Quickie Food

.Those who try to criticize - mad cute to see ur hoe asses hating. But don't bother just coz you are always on your knees doesn't mean that your prayers will be answered. Bwaa hahahaha

.Those who try to downplay - daaaaamn cute. But I'm glad you don't even have an inkling to what we have emotionally and materially coz if you did - you might pull out some of that hair you got.

.Those who hate on the low - my favourite cute. I smell you, and it's not so good. It's okay though...keep on.

Thank you haterators...With haters like you - we're not only doin' our job - but apparently we've changed the game.

17 Sept 2007: It ain't no fun...if the homies can't have none.

It ain't no fun if the homies can't have none...well - I mean dessert..

I love it when Wendy randomly comes to visit me at work and we can chop it up over some gelato and I can take a quick break. It seems like a lot of people have been stopping to visit and I have to admit - it's nice to be missed and loved. Ken said we're almost too Sassy for mass consumption- but he was hangin' in there.

Ben you know you love my hot asian best date ever...

If you really wanna get in good with Wendy, bring her a melon soda...a melon CREAMY soda...
