Preheat Oven to 375F degrees
2 sticks butter (1 cup)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking SODA
pinch of salt
1 cup chopped pecans
handful of granulated sugar
36 "rolo" or old fashioned caramels
36 pecans or almonds
Bake for 9-10 minutes, rest 1 minute and cool on cookie racks.
Please be careful not to overbake them as they are a dark cookie and it is hard to tell when they are overcooked.
